Life is truly screwed up sometimes and right now is one of them. The Ultimate Warrior has died according to WWE.com.

“Days after being inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s Hall of Fame, Jim Hellwig, who will be forever immortalized under his stage name the Ultimate Warrior, died late on Tuesday night after collapsing at a hotel in Arizona. He was 54 years old.”

“WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior,” read a press release posted on the promotion’s website late on Tuesday night.” said Time.com.

The man was just on Raw the night before his death. I was gearing up for more appearances in the coming years from Warrior. Now that it was all getting going again, it all ends. I feel bad for his Wife and two daughters, all of whom were present for his Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It is truly sad. We were all Warrior fans. He was a great vlogger on YouTube. The time, while as a guest speaker, where he took on the students of UConn on controversial topics, was one of the great videos in the history of the internet. I will truly miss him.

I’ll never forget him defeating Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 6, or facing Macho Man at WrestleMania 7. I’ll certainly never forget Warrior rushing out to save Hogan at WrestleMania 8. Warrior was a truly classic professional wrestler. Fortunately, Warrior was inducted into the HOF prior to his death.

I can say I felt grateful to see both Warrior and also Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts (recent cancer scare) inducted. The death of Randy Savage really makes you take into consideration the value and luxury of seeing a man inducted into the Hall of Fame while still living.

“TMZ notes that The Ultimate Warrior posed for photos with fans at the airport in New Orleans around 6am on Tuesday morning. He was said to be in great spirits and offered to take photos with any fan who approached him.

As noted, Warrior collapsed outside of an Arizona hotel shortly before 6pm on Tuesday, while walking with his wife. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Fellow 2014 Hall of Famer Jake Roberts commented on Twitter:

“Deeply saddened. We just had a great talk & buried a senseless hatchet. Talked working together. RIP Warrior. Taking solace we made peace.”

RIP Ultimate Warrior.
