It’s been nine long years since the original ‘Sin City’. The original was an epic and one of the great movies of the 21st Century. We finally have our chance to see the trailer for the 2nd Sin City ‘A Dame To Kill For‘ (outstanding subtitle). The sequel sees the return of Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Powers Boothe, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King and Bruce Willis.
Josh Brolin, Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeremy Piven, Dennis Haysbert and Ray Liotta highlight the list of big additions.
I was more excited to see the trailer than I was by watching the trailer. I think this will be a great movie nonetheless. I’m fired up for this sequel. It’s awesome to see Mickey Rourke back as Marv. I’m still disappointed Clive Owen wasn’t brought back, but Josh Brolin will be an outstanding replacement for a character who changes face via reconstructive surgery. Dennis Haysbert also replaces the late Michael Clarke Duncan. Jessica Alba brings in the same infusion of sexy that she did in the original. Bond Girl Eva Green (‘Casino Royale’) also dials up the film in the looks department. Her God-given eyes alone (seen in the headline photo) were tailor-made to star in a ‘Sin City’ film.
The only downfall in this trailer was the music. While it was good, it doesn’t have that same exciting element as the trailer for the original:
I hope the score for ‘A Dame To Kill For’ will also be as good as the original. The score was just incredible and made you feel the mood it sought to present. For example:
I’m also a big fan of this score track:
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Josh Brolin are the two new additions that I feel will really secure this movie as being successful. Gordon-Levitt almost feels the same way as Josh Harnett was in the original from a narrator perspective. It’s going to be a great movie with a great cast. I hope Bruce Willis’s role is at least half as big as what it was in the original. I’m not sure how much camera time he’ll receive in this.
“Turn the right corner in Sin City and you can find anything.”
